he/him · New York, NY

Jason Nissen is a specialist in ticket brokerage and hospitality marketplaces, with a career spanning nearly three decades. In that time, he has overseen large-scale ticket sales, designed hospitality packages, and organized events that include Broadway productions, music festivals, and global sporting competitions. His professional journey reflects a consistent ability to handle complex operations and deliver experiences that are both reliable and memorable for clients and audiences. Jason’s career is anchored by two strengths: mathematics and interpersonal skills. His background in mathematics provides him with the precision to study logistics, financial structures, and strategies in detail. Alongside this, his natural ability to communicate and build relationships enables him to connect with clients, colleagues, and partners. This balance has allowed him to succeed in industries where both technical expertise and human connection are vital. Due to this combination, Jason has been able to anticipate challenges, remain flexible, and effectively manage projects of all sizes. Whether overseeing a sporting event, a concert, or a festival, he has consistently turned detailed requirements into well-coordinated and seamless outcomes. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Hamilton College in 1994, Jason began shaping his career. While at Hamilton, he also played as a wide receiver on the football team and served as social chair of his fraternity. These experiences provided him with practical training in leadership, communication, and teamwork —skills that became crucial in his work in the ticket brokerage and hospitality industries. For more than 28 years, Jason has served as an officer at The Ultimate Fan. In this position, he has helped the company grow into a respected provider of tickets and hospitality services. Through his work, The Ultimate Fan has delivered access to some of the world’s most recognized events, including the Super Bowl, the Final Four, Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Olympics. Jason’s ability to blend logistical detail with personalized service has allowed the company to serve a wide range of clients, from individual enthusiasts to Fortune 500 corporations. Jason has also pursued event creation. From 2015 to 2017, he was CEO of Minus Zero Music Festival, an Electronic Dance Music festival held in Stratton, Vermont. The festival combined EDM performances with skiing and snowboarding, offering audiences a distinctive entertainment experience. Jason managed every element of the event, including ticketing, merchandise, stage construction, and safety standards. His leadership demonstrated his ability to take creative concepts and deliver them as structured, high-quality events. His approach to business combines vision with direct involvement. Jason credits communication and collaboration as key drivers of his success. From his first clients, developed through college connections, to long-term partnerships with sports teams and corporate clients, he has consistently placed value on building meaningful relationships. Jason has also faced challenges common to his industry, including regulations in ticket sales and the need to balance profitability with sustainable practices. For the Minus Zero Music Festival reboot in 2024, he introduced eco-friendly initiatives, showing that responsible practices could enhance large-scale entertainment without reducing quality. For Jason, professional fulfillment stems from achieving results and proving that ambitious ideas can be successful. He takes inspiration from figures like Phil Knight and Anthony Bourdain, admiring their creativity, persistence, and ability to bring vision into reality. He also values practical tools, such as a whiteboard, for keeping planning collaborative and straightforward. Looking forward, Jason continues to focus on reimagining and improving live event experiences. With the rebranding and relaunch of Minus Zero Music Festival, he intends to combine lessons from the past with innovative methods. His nearly 30 years in ticket brokerage, hospitality, and event management reflect a career built on careful planning, strong relationships, and a commitment to creating events that leave lasting impressions.
