Gudmundur Björnsson

Guðmundur Björnsson is a medical doctor (MD) an MBA and has a CIME degree ? His carrier has been a one of a kind of a joy ride. After graduating medical school he worked in the city hospital in Reykjavík, mostly in emergency, and the rural area of Borgarnes as a GP. Having a fix for adrenaline he was the founder of what is now known as the “doctors helicopter call”. He participated in a lot of search and rescue (SAR) missons, and learned then how to take difficult discissons in marginal time, in the wrong hour of the day under extreamly difficult conditions. It was all about taking calculated risks to save lifes. He was eight years on the board of the Icelandic medical association, two as chairman. He decided to specialise in rehabilitation medicine, and the family went to Sweden. Back to Iceland he became a medical director of the NLFI health clinic in Hveragerði Iceland. He has been and is a consultant for insurance companies and lawyers on accident claims. He drifted itnto business running his own medical consultancy an a out patient rehabilitation service JANUS. Dr. Björnsson now runs with his staff several companies in the medical and financial business. He has a passion motorcycles, and has traveled all over the world on one, including Route 66. The goal is “The long run” around the world. This blog is his attempt to share his experience, knowledge and views on mens health with his readers, a subject that has long been neglegted.
