(They/Them) · Montgomery, Texas

The Green Beret Foundation (GBF) is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers, their families, caregivers, and surviving loved ones. Since its founding in 2009, the Foundation has remained a steadfast source of hope and strength for the Green Beret community, offering specialized programs, financial aid, and emotional support tailored to their unique needs. Headquartered in Southern Pines, North Carolina, the Green Beret Foundation continues to uphold its mission of honoring the service, sacrifice, and resilience of America’s elite warriors while providing comprehensive care that enhances their lives both during and after military service. The Green Beret Foundation was established by Aaron Anderson, a combat-wounded Special Forces Soldier who personally experienced the gaps in care and long-term support for injured Green Berets. His vision led to the creation of an organization dedicated to filling those gaps and ensuring that Soldiers and their families receive consistent, individualized assistance. Since 2009, GBF has grown into a leading nonprofit organization serving the entire Special Forces Regiment, with a focus on health, recovery, transition, and family well-being. Its purpose is clear—to provide meaningful, life-changing resources that go beyond what government or military systems can offer, helping Green Berets and their loved ones navigate the challenges that come with service, sacrifice, and reintegration. The Foundation’s programs span multiple areas of critical support. Its Health & Wellness initiatives emphasize both physical and mental recovery, offering access to evidence-based therapies such as Stellate Ganglion Block for post-traumatic stress, infrared light therapy, and advanced recovery technologies designed to accelerate healing and restore balance. Task Force Tatanka, an integral part of these efforts, promotes psychological strength, peer-to-peer connection, and family engagement through wellness programs tailored specifically for the demands of the Special Forces lifestyle. GBF’s Casualty Support program provides immediate financial relief to Soldiers and families when injuries or unforeseen crises occur, covering essential needs such as travel, lodging, and care-related expenses. The Foundation also supports Gold Star and surviving families by providing long-term advocacy, financial assistance, and a lasting sense of community that honors their loved ones’ service and sacrifice. Through the Next Ridgeline program, GBF prepares Green Berets for post-military success with career readiness tools, educational resources, and personal guidance. Its Veteran Services Officers further assist by helping Soldiers and their families navigate the VA claims process, securing earned benefits, and ensuring continued stability. The Foundation’s commitment extends deeply to families through programs such as the Steel Mags network, which connects spouses, caregivers, and survivors, as well as through scholarship opportunities for dependents that promote growth and education. Since its inception, the Green Beret Foundation has provided over $28 million in direct assistance and supported more than 26,000 families worldwide. Operating with transparency and integrity, 84 percent of every dollar raised goes directly toward its programs. Recognized for its accountability and impact, the Green Beret Foundation stands as a pillar of support for America’s Quiet Professionals—honoring their legacy, empowering their families, and ensuring that their courage and service are never forgotten.
