Christopher M. Bacon is an environmental social scientist and agroecologist. Currently he works at the University of California Berkeley as a S.V. Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Fellow affiliated with the Geography Department. Prior to this he served in the Peace Corps and then completed a PhD in Environmental Studies. After finishing formal studies, he taught in the Latin American and Latinos Studies and Sociology Departments at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Christopher is an author and co-editor of Confronting the Coffee Crisis: Fair Trade, Sustainable Livelihoods and Ecosystems in Mexico and Central America, and several articles related to fair trade, participatory action research, coffee, and sustainable community development. He feels blessed to continue engaged work as a workshop facilitator, project evaluator, adviser to youth organizers, farmer cooperatives, innovative coffee companies, international development agencies and many others.
